How User Accounts work in PrayMore
What is a user account?
A user account is a record of a particular user in PrayMore. It is a collection of basic information and preferences for a given PrayMore user. This information is minimally stored in PrayMore's server but the bulk of this information is only stored on the user's device. The account is completely independent of any churches or organizations and can only be controlled or modified by the user. The user can use their account to connect to many organizations. These organizations can grant or revoke permissions to a user but cannot make changes to that user's account.
What a user can do regarding their account
- The user has complete control of creation and removal of their PrayMore account.
- The user has the ability to completely delete all of their data, both account information and all shared content that they created
- The user can update their Name and email address and how they would like to be contacted. Only the name change is recorded in PrayMore's servers. All other preferences are stored on the user's device.
What an organization administrator can do regarding a user account
Since users can have access to many organizations, there is a limit what an organization administrator can do to a specific user account. Administrators have the following abilities:
- Grant or revoke membership of the user to the organization and associated groups
- Repair a user's access to resources
- Grant administrative access for that user to the organization (this is very dangerous and should only be done in person)
- Report an abusive user to PrayMore with a Helpdesk ticket
- Regularly rotate QR codes to prevent them from being "in the wild" and allowing dangerous people access to groups
